BHR’s political opposition research team combines direct experience supporting political campaigns and advocacy groups with a rigorous and creative approach to research. We draw upon our collective expertise, derived from experience working for high-profile political campaigns and committees, government agencies, and media outlets. Bunker Hill Research conducts wide-ranging reviews of political opponents to uncover negative information that can be used during the course of a campaign. We dig deeper. BHR conducts deep background investigations that go far beyond the average inquiry. We don’t perform simple background checks or searches. We scrutinize a person’s longtime history and background in order to create a detailed narrative about that individual. When a client enlists our support to run a deep background check on an individual, we provide them with a detailed dossier with all the facts needed to make informed decisions.
College & University Research Team
BHR is the preeminent firm for the investigation of colleges and universities. We have long worked for boards, faculty unions, groups, and individuals to conduct comprehensive investigations at all levels - from university or college president to the deans of individual schools. We do comprehensive, in-depth original research for performance reviews that uncover any unethical or illegal activities.
Litigation Support Team

Bunker Hill Research’s litigation support team thrives on the firm’s proven track record as an active and reliable partner to attorneys and other legal professionals. Our research has helped attorneys rebut their opponents’ legal arguments, discredit their witnesses, and change the narrative with newly revealed facts.
Proven Results
BHR's work often makes headlines. Some of our many successes:
- While conducting opposition research on a state senator, BHR uncovered documents suggesting that the senator was accepting bribes from the traffic camera industry. These documents contributed to the opening of a criminal investigation of the senator.
- BHR assisted a Board of Regents to obtain the documents it needed to force the removal of a senior university official for the bullying of employees. The documents resulted in the Board of Regents and this senior university official reaching a “mutual agreement” to part ways.
- BHR assisted a client to obtain the information needed to the file a federal lawsuit to protect the rights of residents to peacefully criticize government against a city mayor.
- Research by BHR contributed to the eventual removal of four university administrators due to their misuse of H-1B temporary work visas in violation of immigration rules.
- At the request of a law firm, BHR investigated a public official and successfully uncovered a history of corrupt behavior. The law firm described the research provided by Bunker Hill Research as “incredibly helpful” and the research to confront the official during a deposition.
- BHR uncovered documents which forced a provost to resign from her position due to abuse of power in order to help her husband find employment, disparaging racial comments about white people, and other serious misconduct.
- BHR was asked to assist a criminal defense attorney regarding insider trading suspicions against a client. Client counsel was able to use these findings to develop an effective defense strategy and no charges were ultimately filed.
- BHR was retained by a Board of Regents to assist with an annual evaluation of a college president. BHR’s research uncovered serious issues with nepotism and resulted in the Board announcing that they had lost confidence in the president and the provost’s eventual firing.
